    1. Hi, glad you like him! Using dk weight yarn he sits about 5in high. People have already made him with his head and arms on a snuggler blanket so it's not a crazy idea! Go for it, I'd love to see the finished article! :)

  45. If I was to use worsted weighted yarn what sz hook would you recommend. I've started with DK weight baby yarn and he seems to be very tiny and I can't afford to go out and buy more yarn lol.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey, I'd probably use a 4mm hook but it really depends on how tight you crochet. What hook would you normally use with your worsted yarn? It doesn't matter as long as it's comfortable and the stitches aren't too loose that stuffing can be seen through them! :)

      Delete
    2. There is no 4mm hook in the U.S., if that's a factor. An F(5) = 3.75 and a G(6) = 4.25. 3.50 is an E(4). Most things you use worsted weight yarn for take an H(8) hook, but that would probably make it huge. A G would be easier, but an F should be doable, especially if using cotton yarn. That's what I'll probably end up using, as I never have anything but worsted at home. haha

      Delete
    3. I didn't realise you guys didn't have a 4mm... I think a 4.25 G(6) would work ok? Hope it goes ok, would love to see result!

  55. Hi, I would love to get some help with this pattern. How do I make the head into a a circle. I think I am missing something in the directions. You can email me at brendakerins@yahoo.com

    ReplyDelete
  56. I understand this pattern is done in rounds, but on the head and rest of parts you don't say how many stitches for the magic circle. I got the eye patch easily but from head and on, I'm confused!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi sorry I didn't get back sooner, a lot going on here!
The head is in fact not started by a magic circle. It starts by a chain 9. If you follow the stitch pattern it will give you an oval shape instead of a circle which gives the snout its shape. If you look closely the nose is not circular, and this is how I achieved that shape. Hope this helps :)

  57. When is the last time she's responded to questions/comments???
Can anyone help the latest ones figure out the rounds for the head and remaining parts, aside from the eye patch. There are no number of stitches for the magic circle for the rest of the cow!!! Thanks!!!
