Strawberry Amigurumi

Here is my pattern for my amigurumi strawberries.....

This is the first pattern I've ever made public, and I've only tested it myself, so any errors or questions, just get in touch! I only have 1 picture, but they are dead easy to make so it should become clear!

I used Sirdar Snuggly Baby Bamboo DK and a 3.5mm hook, but gauge is not important, as long as you use a hook suited to the yarn.

US terms are used (sc = dc in UK terms)

pattern is worked in a continuous spiral.

With colour 1 (Red)

1 - I used magic ring method and then 6sc in ring (6)
2 - (Increase in first sc, then sc in next) 3 times (9)
3 - sc around (9)
4 - (sc in next 2 stitches, then increase in next) 3 times (12)
5 - (sc in next 3 stitches, then increase in next) 3 times (15)
6 - (sc in next 4 stitches, then increase in next) 3 times (18)
7 - (sc in next 5 stitches, then increase in next) 3 times (21)
8 - (sc in next 6 stitches, then increase in next) 3 times (24)
9 - sc around (24)
10 - (sc in next 3 stitches, then increase in next) 6 times (30)
11 - (sc in next stitch, then decrease over next 2) 10 times (20)
12 - decrease 10 times (10)

Begin stuffing

13 - decrease 5 times (5)

fasten off leaving a long tail to close the strawberry shut. finish stuffing.

Using colour 2 (yellow)

cut a long piece and thread on yarn needle. Insert through open top of strawberry , leaving a few inches tailing out of the top. Poke the needle through anywhere in the strawberry and make a small 'pip' by inserting the needle and yarn back through the strawberry one stitch height above or below where the needle came out. continue this all over the strawberry until you are happy with the placement of the pips. Thread the yarn back through the top and tie to the tail to secure it. trim ends and hide know in top of strawberry. Close strawberry up but weaving red yarn tail through remaining 5 stitches and pulling tightly. Tie off and trim excess.

Using colour 3 (green)

1 -  6 sc in magic ring, slip to close
2 - (chain 4, slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook, then sc in next and hdc in last. slip stitch into next sc in ring) 6 times, once in each of the 6sc of ring. This makes the leaves. I added a stalk to mine too. There is no set way of doing this, but once I completed the 6 leaves, I slip stitched in first stitch to close it off, and then improvised my slip stitching my way to middle of the ring. Once I did this, I chained 4, and sc in 2nd chain from hook and next 2 chains, before slipping back into leaves to finish it off. Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew to top of strawberry.

I hope this makes sense, let me know if not. The leaves were a bit of freestyling but I managed to get good results twice! Good Luck!

  3. The detail in your strawberry is literally perfect. The yellow for the seeds is a great touch! I featured it on a round up at MNE Crafts!
